Delta kitchen sink faucet leaking at base.
Description of the leak.
Shut off the hot and cold water supply valves which are usually silver knobs under the sink.
A leak around the base of the faucet where the faucet body meets the sink is not quite as obvious since users are constantly splashing water around the sink deck and base of the faucet.
With this leak water will leak from the area where the faucet base touches the escutcheon plate or countertop.
In these situations the leaking occurs only when the faucet is turned on.
Faucet is leaking or dripping at the base near the countertop.
Replace seats and springs 4 in diagram repair part rp4993 if leak persists.
Replace o rings 5 in diagram repair part rp25 leaks from aerator.
Turn on the faucet to drain any water in the lines.
If the faucet seems to be leaking from there try tightening the adjusting ring with needle nose pliers.
Lift the faucet spout off the faucet to expose the body of the faucet and the o ring.
Since the water travels through the hose and not the spout itself a leak from the base of the spout would be very unlikely.
If this occurs check the connection of the hose to the spray wand.
Be sure the small plastic tab lines up with the small metal cutout at the nine o clock position in the faucet pipe.
Place a small amount of silicone based grease in.
Replace seats and springs 3 in diagram repair part rp4993 if leak persists.
Replace stem unit assembly 3 in diagram repair part rp1740.
Investigate the cap and adjusting ring by taking a good look.
Replace o rings 1 in diagram repair part rp2055 leaks from aerator.
Place the ball in the sink so its holes are inline with the holes in the faucet pipe.
For faucets purchased prior to 2007 please order rp1050 cap and rp61 cam and packing.
Replace cam packing 2 in diagram repair kit rp61.
But if you frequently see puddling water on the sink deck around the faucets you may have a leak in this area.
If it is you may just have to tighten the handle s adjusting ring.
Leaks from base of the spout.
Replace stem unit assembly 3 in diagram repair part rp1740 leaks from base of the spout.
If that doesn t do the trick you ll need to change out the faucet s seats and springs.
If that doesn t stop the leak you ll need to replace the faucet s seats and springs.
Use your fingers to peel the old o ring from the faucet body.
If this connection is secure and not leaking then check the hose for damage.

Unscrew and remove the adjusting ring.
